It’s Foodie Friday! This oven fried chicken recipe couldn’t be easier. You won’t believe the crispy, juicy results from minimal effort! This is a perfect recipe for a Sunday dinner at home.
Crispy Oven Fried Chicken
3-4 chicken legs (thigh and drumstick, about 3.5 pounds)
1/2 cup flour
2 tsp paprika or smoked paprika
2 tsp poultry seasoning
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1/2 tsp cayenne (optional)
3 Tbsp butter
Preheat oven to 425. Cover a 2″ deep 9×13″ pan with foil. If chicken pieces will be overly crowded in a single pan, use two pans. Combine flour and spices in a large bowl and mix. Once oven is preheated, add butter to pan and put pan in oven until butter is melted. Remove pan from oven.
Pat chicken mostly dry with paper towels. Add chicken, one piece at a time, to bowl with flour mixture and coat well. Place chicken in prepared pan on top of melted butter. Cook for 30 minutes then flip and cook for 15-25 minutes more until chicken is golden brown and reaches 185 degrees internal temperature. (If you stop cooking at 165 the chicken will be edible but not as tender.) Allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
